Before you order

Questions about timing, orders, and refunds

Straight answers to the questions people ask before they pay for a filing. Timelines on each service page stay the source of truth.

How long does an order take?

Each service page lists its own timeline, and that is the range to use. LLC registration is usually 3–10 business days. An EIN application is usually 1–5 business days. A USDOT number is usually 2–5 business days. MC operating authority takes 3–7 business days of our work, then FMCSA processing of about 3–4 weeks, including a mandatory 21-day protest period. Most orders start within 24 hours once the form and any requested documents are in. State and federal agencies can take longer than the range on the page.

What happens after I submit an order?

You pick a service, see the price and timeline, and fill out a short form. That usually takes 3–5 minutes. Upload any documents the service asks for. We prepare and file the paperwork, write to you if something is missing, and send the result to your email. If you are not sure which service you need, start with a free consultation instead of an order.

What is your refund policy?

The price on the service page is our service fee, and it is shown before you order. State filing fees and government fees are separate. The FMCSA fee for MC authority, currently $300, is one example, and it is paid to the agency rather than to us. We cannot refund a fee that has already been paid to the government. Services marked Review required are not charged until we confirm the scope with you. If you need to stop an order before filing has started, send the details through the free consultation form and we will tell you what can still be cancelled.

What does Review required mean?

Some filings depend on how you operate, so we read the details before we start. Review required covers MC Authority, IFTA registration, bank account preparation, state selection guidance, payment processor preparation, and the full business and trucking packages. It means we confirm the right option first. You will not be charged until we confirm. It is not an extra fee added at checkout.

Do I need a USDOT number, an MC number, or both?

A USDOT number identifies a commercial vehicle company with the FMCSA. An MC number is operating authority for a for-hire carrier. You need an active USDOT number before you can apply for MC authority. Hauling your own goods and hauling freight for someone else are not the same filing. The guide on this site walks through the difference, and the service pages for USDOT registration, MC authority, and the trucking package are the ones to order from.

Are you a law firm?

No. GoldenGate Ventures prepares and files company and carrier paperwork. We are not a law firm, and this is not a substitute for a licensed attorney or CPA. State selection guidance is practical guidance, not legal or tax advice.
